Reluctantly walking past the sublime City Arms to do some new venues, popped into the not surprisingly quiet (background brilliant music aside, Machine Head on my arrival) for the time of day. This is a music bar most definitely with a heavy metal leaning! Only sat in the downstairs bar, which as the small bar itself on the left hand wall as you walk in and a small bit at the back with an unused pool table on my visit.
Keg beers only, including Red Stripe on tap (one of the very few lagers I have a tolerance for), Motörhead Road Crew, Trooper Nitro as well as a bunch of other oft seen choices.
Loads of historic concert memorabilia on the walls and a nice lived in feel to the place. toilets upstairs of rock venue, my quick visit left me with a smile of my face after reading some of the witty graffiti. There was a band limbering up in the music venue part at the back and the place was starting to properly rock as

The Fuel bar is set on one of Cardiff's oldest streets and is free every night to get in, although if you wanted to visit the music room there is a cover charge.
