The Forge Bar is situated in a nice looking courtyard off Sadler Gate.
Once inside the bar faces in a narrow area where there is little seating,the right side extends to the front so you see it as you go into the pub,this area is also quite narrow with bench seating down the left side with chairs,the right side has tall tables and chairs,there is a stone floor throughout.
There are no real ales on the bar,but there is a very large craft keg selection on the bar and an even larger bottled beer selection which i listed in a book on each table,i had a drink of Meantime Pale Ale,which was a decent enough keg beer,i did not bother to note the other keg craft beers on the bar as they do not interest me.
There was decent background music playing,food is served,but on my early Saturday dinner visit it was too early,the pub was also empty.
This must appeal to Derby's more upmarket drinkers as the prices seemed to expensive for both drinks and food here.
