Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Bell Country Inn
The village pub in Llanyre is billed as the Bell Country Inn. Opening times seemed to be centred around meal times, with afternoon closures every day of the week and with the pub being closed at Monday lunchtimes and Sunday evenings.
Despite the focus on food, quite a few drinkers were gathered in the public bar, which did at least make it feel like a pub. The larger room is more of a restaurant and the whole building has been modernised inside, giving it a slightly clinical feel.
What was most off-putting was the continuation of a few Covid-era rules. A sign near the entrance requested that you wait to be seated. I was directed to the bar area to find a table and was given a few of the pub rules. These had apparently been relaxed recently, such that you are now allowed to go to the bar to order your drink. However, you have to be seated to consume it. Drinking at the bar is not permitted. It all seemed a bit draconian.
HPA & Landlord were the real ales on offer.
