Now renamed The Key Stone. Similar to its previous incarnation The Clove Hitch with the same layout inside. A beer garden to the rear and now a few pavement tables on Hope St, from which you can view both cathedrals. Up to 3 cask beers on and a number of craft stuff.

29/7/18:
Now open as Bread And Butter and is very much a restaurant. You can just visit for a drink and they're very much into cocktail nonsensery. They do sell beers and lagers but I couldn't see any taps or pumps on or behind the bar.

10/3/18:
Closed.

11/11/15:
A mainly eating place with two handpumps on the ground bar and a few more downstairs in the Bar23 bit. Lots of bottled beers and a lot of high end strength beers. My mate likes it, I think its crap despite the beer choice.

Old Boots left this review about The Clove Hitch

GBG 2014 listed, upstairs it's a corner of a restaurant with 3 pulls and 1 keg tap plus a fridge of decent bottles. The beer was a bit warm and a bit flat. Downstairs is a cellar bar with the same cask selection and a different keg on the counter plus a further selection of 8 kegs on the wall behind the counter served via the trendy "boil in the bag" method. Seating in the small bar area upstairs is provided by a sofa or bar stools, while downstairs is a bit like a dimly lit refectory. Bar staff upstairs are pretty young women; downstairs it's chaps with the kind of facial hair you expect in these places. There is a sign saying we don't do wine on a girder over the counter downstairs, upstairs is probably different, but Mrs RobCamra needs to know this. Beer garden at rear.
