On a main road but still isolated in terms of nearby pubs, it’s a family dining pub but to the right is a public bar although in a modern style. Needless to say I swerved the wingeing kids etc in the smelly eating area and chose the public. All the modern and some traditional public bar stuff is here; screens on sport, piped music, machine, pool table, dart board, salt of the earth locals but no f’ing and blinding, well not as much as some places. Predictable range of lager, cider and Guinness plus a new one on me, “Stones Cold”, possibly a very chilled smooth version of the old bitter. I won’t bother describing the interior, it’s basic with tongue and groove and mostly tall seating.
