E TA left this review about The Fallow Field
A new-build Marston’s pub with a Marston Inns hotel annex. There is a large car park, easily reachable from the ring road. There is a basic, unattractive garden with seating and a children’s play area, though most if the children were running around inside when we visited. Inside, the single bar is amorphous, comfortable yet rather dull. Food is the standard Marston’s menu, reasonably priced and served by pleasant staff. Ales on were Wainwright’s Golden Ale, Pedigree and Brakspear’s Gold. The beer was over-gassed and too cold, but it tasted Ok once it had settled down and been left for a bit. OK to stop for a quick pint when passing, but it currently lacks a little atmosphere.
