David Ross left this review about Il Pela
Formerly known as the plain old “Peel Bar,” this has now been rather pretentiously renamed for a pub in one of Glasgow’s giant housing schemes. Il Pela actually sits on the edge of the council scheme, between it and the more affluent, owner occupier dominated Old Drumchapel, and is right next to Drumchapel station. It’s a two storey building, with a function suite upstairs and a large rectangular bar/lounge on the ground floor, although even it is only open from Thursdays to Sundays. Seating consists of a mix of cubicles with tables, sofas and bar stools. There is one large TV screen and two smaller ones, games machines and a pool table. A sign on the wall points to a beer garden, but, being mid-January, it was closed. A pint of Guinness cost me £2.90 and Tennent’s lager, Tennent’s Special, Caledonia Best and Strongbow cider are also on draught.
