Just when you bank on going to a chain hotel for an uplift in the average score for the evening, the said chain hotel disappoints you! As soon as I walked in and saw this was now a Carluccio’s I almost walked straight out and thought of requesting the venue be marked as closed. However, it does have a separate bar area where you can go and drink (but after reading the beer choices in the next para I would ask why the hell would you want to).

There were four taps offering Goose Island Midway Pale Ale, Guinness, Menabrea and Peroni so on that basis it should be retained as a venue. I have periodically over the years visited Carluccio’s but I have never considered as a counting venue. Maybe I need to rethink that - NOT. Having had enough Guinness tonight o had a glass of red wine and it was probably the highlight of tonight’s quaffing.
