An interesting place, still less interesting than Harry's Bar next door, and opening a crucial hour earlier on weekdays. This is essentially a long, narrow building with the bar counter on the back wall just a couple of steps from the front door. Six hand pumps have a range of beers from Yorkshire breweries, with only Small World from Huddersfield likely to raise an eyebrow of non-recognition (see photo). I went for the Ossett White Rat, having just had the same beer in The Hop nearby. It was slightly less good, but still better than acceptable (NBSS 3 to 3.5). The pub is in the current Good Beer Guide, so definitely worth a look in, especially if you're waiting for next door to open.

I didn't mind this place though it wasn't anything special. Open plan and a choice of 6 handpulls to choose from. Probably worth a visit.

A slightly larger version of Harry's next door, 6 pulls mainly with local breweries beers and a Latin dominated lager range. Bench seating at cast iron base tables with wooden stools for a traditional look and feel. Big screens both ends and first floor toilets.

This place is now run by the chap that had the Elephant and Castle and tends to get fairly busy on the nights, not opening before 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Possibly Thursdays as well. It has a decent selection of ales though nothing particularly strong the last time I visited.

Will Larter left this review about The Old Print Works
Just next door to Harry's Bar, I'm afraid the Old Print Works suffers badly in the comparison. Where Harry's exudes character and tradition, this one smells of new paint and wallpaper paste. Replace the friendly but slightly rushed service in the crowded congeniality of Harry's with the poor barman here, desperate for someone to serve. This is a recent conversion from an Indian restaurant, which makes a refreshing change, but unfortunately the atmosphere is reminiscent of the former establishment. It's definitely a pub, though, as the half-dozen hand pumps on the bar testify. Beers available at the time of our visit were Copper Dragon Golden Pippin, Thwaites Wainwright, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Black Sheep Bitter, GK Old Speckled Hen and Bob's White Lion (from the formerly named Red Lion Brewery in Ossett). There's an authentic-looking jukebox, but the music we heard did not emanate from it. Toilets are located upstairs.
