Strongers . left this review about Slug & Lettuce
An L-shaped Slug & Lettuce with an L-shaped serving counter that faces high tables. There’s some raised seating to the left of the entrance and higher raised seating continues up the left wall towards the rear. There’s also a balcony with standing room that overlooks the bar area and standard seating in the left rear. I thought the layout was very odd, but reading that this is an old converted courthouse it now makes sense. I’ve been in a few S&Ls lately, this was by far the busiest being full of a young midweek crowd. The usual range of premium keg was available from the bar. This place isn’t aimed at me so I’ll walk past next time.

Fairly standard Slug & Lettuce with no real ale. Had a quick Heineken in the interests of research. This is the site of the last public hanging in Britain - I would probably have enjoyed that more!

Really well presented former courthouse converted to a grill house and pub. Lots of sports screens around the door/main court area with the stairway to the cells and the judge's seat nice kept features. Low level lighting in the further area.
3 real ales served.
Different and nice place to stop off.
Very close to the cathedral

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Establishment
Modernised bar / restaurant housed in the old County Hall, with a dais and gallery-level seating under the high ceiling in the main bar area (previously a courtroom). Off to one side, the 'L'-shaped counter extends round to a dining room beneath a lower ceiling featuring a large (if plain) skylight. Also has other interesting features such as the stairs down to the former cells. Generally dark furniture and decor. Three real ales are offered, with Doom Bar and Bombardier thankfully supplemented by Byatt's Coventry Bitter (£3.10)
