A fairly modern village pub, paradoxically the only one in Old Town. It also offersB&B. It’s a single storey barn conversion with a small gravel outside seating area at the front and a larger lawned garden with children’s play apparatus and bench seating at the side. There are two bars, a public bar at the front, wood panelled and timber-floored, and a larger but less cosy room at the back which also serves as a function room on occasion. The latter wasn’t in use when we visited. The front bar is in two halves, has a few tables and is more of a drinkers’ bar with a pool table, dartboard, jukebox and TV screen. There was also a large woodburner for warmth and a piano, currently inactive due to COVID. Four handpumps, two ales - ‘OTI’ [Old Town Inn] IPA, which was really Tribute under a different name, and Beast of Bodmin. The ale was in fair condition, good enough to drink at any rate. Worth dropping in as there’s a warm welcome from the staff and it’s a comfortable place to drink.

Not as old as the name perhaps implies: single-storey barn conversion in the only real village outside Hugh Town. One long room, clean, fairly spartan and a little lacking in atmosphere, perhaps - but great range of booze on, including nine! ciders on our visit.
