Strongers . left this review about The Mill Arts Centre

I popped into the Mill Arts Centre on a recent Wednesday afternoon when I found myself to be the only customer in the bar and café area to the right of the entrance, and this was the case for the duration of my brief visit which was not long before the weekday closing time of 16:30. Unfortunately the Hook Norton ales on both of the hand pumps on the back bar were off and there are no draught lager options, so it was bottles only. The service was polite, but I saw nothing here that would have me rushing back.

It's a cafe in the basement of a mill building converted to an arts centre which happens to serve real ale,and there are benches outside where in good weather you can sit and watch the canal boats approach Banbury Lock. The interior is unremarkable ,and I cant imagine having a long session here especially as the choice was Hooky Bitter,a real cider and an unused third handpump.

A GBG-listed Arts Centre bar less than 5 minutes from the train station (cut through the bus depot to access). A large impressive stone edifice (presumably a Mill in a former life?). Whitewashed interior with flagstone flooring and chocolates leather banquettes. Three ales, two Purity and a decent Hooky Bitter, served by friendly staff. I was the only customer for most of my visit. Startled by a massive and sustained banging/rumble from upstairs (a Spanish dance class, apparently) which sounded like they were about to come through the ceiling. Password WiFi available and food offered. A bit of a CAMRA inclusivity tick-box rather than a drinking destination, I think. Still, worth having a look if you’re in Banbury. Just avoid Salsa class evening.
