A former restaurant named after the former what looks to be an 18th century farm on the site called the Thornescroft. It has a nice garden area and a swing for the kids (as well as a tractor!). It is a Brunning and Price place, so like its sister, the Oakley Arms in Brewood, it is given mostly over to food - with no real bar space feel. The interior is a nesting of rooms - all tidy - with historic prints and such like. The service was fine and the clientele mainly mature (it isn't cheap). There is no music/TV. There were 6 real ales on - Butty Bach, Ludlow Best, Enville, their own Bitter, Beartown Ursa Major and a really good Frothblower's Cloudburst Porter. Kind of place you do for food really, but you won't be disappointed by the ale if you do.
