As it’s name suggests, this is perhaps more of a hotel bar rather than your traditional pub, but it is nonetheless a pleasant enough spot with a good sized patio area at the front to make the most of the sea views and it appears as though it may have had a recent refurbishment.

Internally it does perhaps feel a little more like a restaurant, and whilst the tables weren’t fully laid up for food, they did all contain menus and a cruet. Décor wise there was little of any note other than perhaps some unusual wallpaper that looked to be made of a suede like material with dotted lines in it. Some unusual artwork was on the walls and a couple of TV screens, although they were only showing the logo for the radio station that was playing. A number of small spotlights were either recessed in to the ceiling or shining on the walls in various shades such as red, blue and white.

Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap, just keg Bombardier. The solitary cider was Thatcher’s Gold. Other then perhaps to sit outside on a sunny day and admire the views, I can see little reason to return here.
