Alan Winfield left this review about Sir Robert Peel
The Sir Robert Peel was a stern looking three storey pub that was situated in the back streets near Derbys train station.
Once inside the pub was just as stern with a large and very basic bar, this room had a tiled floor and very basic wood bench seating, making it a very uncomfortable pub to sit and drink in.
The pub was an Ind Coope tied house and unusally for the time had real ales on the bar, these were Ansells bitter and mild.
This was not a pub that i liked that much even if it did have real ales on.
The pub closed down in the mid 90s,but it is still standing and is now a railwaymans club.
