Will Larter left this review about Irton Hall
A former school, now a hotel, the bar is open to the public and signs at the entrance (over a cattle grid) state "serving local ales", so I went in. The bar is accessed via a central door in the long front. There are two hand pumps, but the beers on offer were Hobgoblin Gold (brewed in Hampshire) and Adnams Mosaic (Suffolk). I pointed this out to the person behind the bar, who was suitably embarrassed but recovered to say that they had bottles of Irton Ale, brewed at Ulverston. The hotel is in the same ownership as the Santon Bridge Inn, which was also selling Adnams Mosaic when I was here. Why don't they sell local ales when that's what it says on the sign? (I didn't have a drink, so no rating given. Don't suppose I'll be back, though.)
