Lovely pub full of character and plenty of good ales to choose from. 9 beers from Sadlers, Craddocks and Bridgnorth breweries, and cider on 1 handpump. We chose Bridgnorth Monarchs Way and Craddocks Crazy Sheep. Food was being served but there was a good snack menu behind the bar too. What was new to me was seeing a jar of little boney dog biscuits on the bar for dog owners to select. A bowl of water also provided. Upstairs room had long tables and benches, one set up for a group for a Christmas meal.

A pub full of charm and character, the pub consists of a front lounge area with ornate fireplace. The bar is situated on the right with a further fireplace and some seating. There is a large lounge area upstairs, with monks benches and open beams adorned with hops.
There were 8 ales and 2 ciders on the bar. The Craddocks Saxon Gold was a good session ale and the cobs were excellent, home cooked ham and chef's homemade chutney. The cheese was local, so got a takeaway cheese and onion cob for the train. I highly recommend this pub, well worth another visit.
