Strongers . left this review about Also Known As

Also Known As is a long young person’s bar with banquette seating to the left of the entrance and a pod of a kid’s fairground ride called Sam the Seal to the right. A mix of high and lounge seating runs up the right-hand wall opposite the long serving counter up the left. At some point the owners have purchased a job lot of pommel horses because there are a few dotted about for a bit of quirky seating. At the rear of the counter are some interesting booths that look like aircraft cargo containers and to the right rear is a DJ booth. I also spotted a photo booth that confirmed that I would hate it in here at the weekend. The two staff on duty were very polite to this old man, but the available draught was only premium keg alongside Salt’s Alpacalypse IPA. My visit wasn’t awful, but I was the only customer during a recent midweek evening visit.

Modern, younger persons bar set in a former retail outlet. It's all very on trend inside with a mismatch of furniture,a long bar while beyond in an area under a vaulted opaque glass ceiling with glitter balls there is to the left unusual seating booths with steps to some seats above the booths, and opposite a small stage or mixing desk area. The size of the speakers indicates that music will be turned up to 11 at time, however a cool soundtrack was playing at a sensible volume on my Wednesday evening visit. There are tea lights everywhere,it's dark and moody with the gents upstairs at the far end.
The bar has a series of keg taps but no beer menu.I asked the barman what was on but he asked me did I want lager, then started telling me how good Camden Town beers were,I couldnt be bothered to argue. The best option seems Goose Island Midway (just ok,£4.80) but that's not much to write home about.
It's not really a place for me,there were some older geezers inside but it's really for hipsters. There aren't many hipsters in Banbury, and I can see no reason to revisit.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Also Known As

Curious American-style bar, diner and music venue, with a right mix of quirky furniture and decor in a 'T'-shaped layout. Pool table in one front corner and notional 'stage' at the back. No real ale, but some unusual keg offerings including a powerful imported 8.5% Tank 7 Farmhouse ale from Boulevard Brewing (£1.50, half).
