This is a new build pub on a business park. It's pretty generic from the outside and looks like any other new build pub near a hotel. Inside it's been quite nicely done out although still a bit generic there are some partitions to give the feel of a multi roomed pub. It specialises in carvery meals which is why I was here on Sunday as my dad wanted to go. Slightly surprisingly there were 3 real ales on the bar. Old Speckled Hen, Moorhouse's Blond Witch and the biggest surprise Brightside The Beast. I had a couple of pints of The Beast which was in reasonable condition, but rather strangely priced at £2.99. I'm not a great fan of pubs like this or carvery's. However the meat was well cooked (pink beef), the selection of potatoes & vegetables were very good and the onion gravy was excellent. Which all in all was good value for £7.95. There were still a few greedy sods piling it high and then leaving it (muppets), but not that many. Most people seemed to be very sensible. There's a family area as well. so we weren't overrun by screaming, untethered brats. I wasn't looking forward to coming here, but overall, to my surprise I enjoyed it. So did my dad, so I guess we'll be back.
