Attractive old building though inevitably there’s not much going on inside as regards historic features. Of interest is the pool room to the right spur, a wood plank wall here with a graffito rendition of the local sports teams badges. Amusement value by the dart board as there's a life-sized Bully painted on the wall to cheer you on. Downstairs is a gig room with Leicester music legends depicted on the walls (Johns Deacon and Lord alongside some others I didn’t immediately place) – so looks a good bet for live music. Fully keg bar with a paper sign for the Wainwright so I played safe with half a Staro which was pretty good in all honesty. Not bad, in context. I suspect I’ll find myself in here again at some point now I live in the city. 5.5
