A traditional village pub. Still retains small discrete areas and is cosy with carpet and rugs, though it was a bit cold despite the radiator being on. Plenty of people in, a number of whom were watching the rugby on the telly and there was a lively atmosphere. Note the tie rack above the bar and a collection of foreign notes pinned on the beams. Apparently there’s a pretty good garden with an impressive view but it was too dark and soggy to go exploring. Dog-friendly. Six ales on, all local. We tried the Exeter Best and Branscombe Vale Branoc which were a both a little cold but in good order. A nice place worth seeking out. 8.5

A fine village pub with two rooms. Main bar has an area set aside for eating from the good value menu and also has a real fire (not lit during a recent visit).
A good selection of Real Ale from local brewers plus Fog on the Tyne served by the friendly landlord make this a good place to visit.
Car park at the rear of the pub whichalso boasts a large beer garden.
