This is the brewery tap of the nearby Shottle Farm Brewery, though the signage still shows its previous allegiance to Theakstons. All hand pumps, over two bars, are dedicated to the brewery's product. At the time of my visit the beers on offer were Bob, Shottlecock, Black Peggy (a stout) and Dilks. This was the third pub of a day-long crawl by minibus, and our arrival caught the staff at a busy time for meals, but they seemed to cope pretty well, and when things quietened down the landlady had time for a beer related discussion with one of our number, who has connections with Sheffield's Fat Cat.
The beers all went down very well, and the other customers seemed to be enjoying their carvery meals. The pub consists of a smallish public bar, labelled snug but not my idea of one, to the left, with a main bar room and conservatory/dining room to the right, leading to the very nice garden which, as someone pointed out, could do with a little more in the way of furniture. We enjoyed it here and would certainly recommend the pub to anyone who finds it easier to get to than we did.
