E TA left this review about 37 Club
This rambling, almost industrial pre-fab complex was originally the sports and social club for the Royal Ordnance Factory which was previously on the adjacent site. Various interconnected portakabins contain 2 skitttle alleys, pool room, snooker room, dining room and a long, L-shaped main bar. There is large car park and a rather informal but big woodland garden which includes its own fishing lake and sports pitch. It looks like a cross between a Scout hut and a Falkland Islands storage facility, but once inside the greeting is warm and genuine, and the beer is good. The barmaid was very friendly and the regulars chatty. Although it is billed as a club, they warmly welcome non-members, and CAMRA members get discount. There are gaming machines in the bar, and TV is available to watch sports. There is a small concert room where shows and burlesque/cabaret events are hosted. Food is advertised on laminated menus, basic pub standards at a fair price. Ales on were Otter, Otter Amber and Tribute, all in good condition. As we left it was made very clear that we were welcome to come back anytime, so we shall as it has a lot to offer, though it doesn’t open weekday lunchtimes.
