Large place which looks recently taken-over (or refurbed) – either way, it is open to all-comers. There’s a mid-sized bar facing the street and a much larger room behind with drop-down for the sports as well as pool and darts. In this room is a vast amount of rugby memorabilia on the walls, both the local team and the Welsh national side. Two pumps with Brains Bitter (NBSS 3.5) and Westons Family Vintage cider served-up by a pair of jovial middle-aged ladies in rugby tops. 2x Welsh cakes for a pound tempted the missus. Something a bit unusual for the tourist hell of the town centre and I wouldn’t be averse to a revisit.
