The Golden Pot is described as a Freehouse Pub and Restaurant, I would say the emphasis is definitely toward the food. Two main areas of the pub are joined by large opened out doorways allowing easy access between the two, both areas had a full compliment of tables and chairs set out for eating. If you want only drinks you could sit at the bar on the provided stools or there are benches outside.Three beers were available and these were Andwells King John, Hammerpot Pale and Bowman's Swift One, this selection changes with other interesting micro brewery options ,my choice of the Bowman's was in tip top condition and topped up by the the barman without having to request it. The beer here is undoubtedly very good and on that basis I would call in for a pint again ,but is more Restaurant than pub so it wouldn't be an extended stay.
