Blue Scrumpy left this review about Dolfor Inn
Dolfor has just the one pub. This is it. Opening hours are limited to just Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and this is now very much a restaurant rather than a pub.
The entranceway has two doors. We assumed the one on the right was for a bar but it appeared closed. To the left is a split-level dining area. Just one of the four or five tables was occupied with the landlord asking me if I had reserved as we walked up to the bar. I never particularly appreciate this as an opening gambit and despite the fact that we were looking for food, I simply said no and that we were looking for a drink.
Looking for a drink didn't require much searching. Handpulls have been removed here and the keg selection is a simple choice between Madri or Sharp's Cold River cider. Although there was a good selection of spirits and Morland Old Speckled Hen, Wye Valley HPA & Butty Bach & Monty's Sunshine were available in bottles.
My wife left the bar to find the toilet with the landlord shouting at her that she couldn't enter the dining room. How else was she supposed to get to the toilet, or were we not entitled to visit the toilet if we hadn't made a reservation?!
Seating in the small bar area was by way of a sofa and a high table with a couple of stools. The dining area from which we were prohibited was down a step. Apparently accommodation is available too but with such terrible and rude service, I'm not sure why anybody would knowingly choose to stay here.
It's always a shame to see a pub go downhill so quickly. Not really a pub anymore, this is just a restaurant with accommodation.
