Looks a bit down at heel from the outside but inside is a lovely quirky boozer. Sideways U shaped interior with basic furnishing and decor that hasn't been touched since the sixties. There are also a large variety of knik-knaks, from a stuffed deers head coming out of the dartboard to an ‘on air’ sign behind the bar via fireman's helmets hanging from the ceiling. To the rear is a covered smoking area with airplane seats and Double Diamond ash trays. Chatty barmaid and locals. Three ales at the bar; Courage Best which was selling, and two Teignworthy beers which weren't. Obviously I went for one of the latter which was a fusty specimen (NBSS 1.5). In short; worth a visit for the pub itself but don't expect consistent ale quality. Shame - they should stick to one ale or two at the most here.
