Tucked just around the corner from the Marine this is a straightforward pub serving the locals and the lager-swilling holiday makers. Indeed the inside was replete with odd smells, presumably from the previous evening’s fun. Has had a bit of money thrown at the Interior with grey/purple painted panelling and new posh black leather chairs that will probably be tatty as heck come 2021. With a pool table looming on entering and a drop-down screen showing the footy, I wasn't expecting much on the ale front; even less so when the St Austell Tribute spluttered and dispensed clear liquid but lo! It was holding water in the pipe for overnight and once pulled through I got a first class half. Top cellaring! The other choice was Otter Bitter. So a mixed bag, I didn't care for the pub but an A1 ale makes this one worth a look.
