Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Creagan Inn
I had been waiting throughout the winter for this pub to open and to visit a few new (for me) pubs in Argyll & Islay. The Creagan Inn finally re-opened for the season on Thursday, March 25th. I had planned to head here direct from Glasgow Airport, as it was due to open at 11am. However, a message on social media the night before revealed that they would delay opening until 5pm, which was not much good for me.
Instead, I headed here on a Friday lunchtime. The pub is listed in the 2026 Good Beer Guide and it has a couple of handpulls. However, I was told that the cask ales needed to settle before they could be put on. Surely they could have been settling during the period of closure?! So, a pub in the current Good Beer Guide had no real ale at all. Apparently, Jarl is normally available. Keg options were Belhaven Best & Black, Furstenburg, Fyne Ales Workbench IPA, Tennents & Lost Orchard Cider.
The pub has lovely views across Loch Creran from both the interior and an outdoor patio. Inside, there are dark red painted walls and there is a pool table and dartboard next to the bar. Food appears to be popular and Sunday roasts are served. The pub was also promoting whisky tasting nights and Friday quiz nights. A TV at the bar was switched off, with music playing instead. Wifi is also available.
Not sure I'd make the journey here again. Was it worth waiting the winter for? No!
