Situated in the town square, this is a character pub with all walls and ceilings covered in stuff, from a taxidermied tiger to a low-flying model aircraft via oodles of breweriana and Rugby Union paraphernalia. Traditional feel with carpet, bench seating and a wood burner. Two cask on over five pumps, Hobgoblin Gold and a lacking turnover St Austell Tribute (NBSS 2.5). Management problems it seemed as whilst there was plenty of staff, only one conscientious girl was actually pulling their weight to the extent that she took over my order from the slackjaw who initially started it and then failed to progress to actually pulling my beer. It's a pleasant stop and could be a destination if the ale ticked over more and someone whipped the staff a bit. 6.5
