This pub is virtually on the "beach" at Rock Ferry. Although near to the station for crows and maybe seagles, it is a long way on foot as you have to walk round to the bridge to cross the bypass. It has two large rooms either side of the central bar, plus a more "pub style" room at the rear. I arrived 12 noon on Saturday lunch. Every table in all rooms was set up for dining with most of them with Reserved signs on. I ordered my pint and sat on one of the few unreserved tables. A couple of minutes later a reserved sign was placed on my table and I was informed that I would have to leave the table in one hour! I told him I would be only ten minutes. I drank up in 5 and left!
My pint of Peerless was far below the expected standard of this Good Beer Guide pub. It is virtually a restaurant and the beer drinker is not exactly welcomed, at least not on Saturday lunch!

Formally the Admiral. Now fully refurbed and open. A gastropub. Very difficult to find as its hidden of the main road and is near the waterfront and right next to Tranmere Oil Terminal. Real ale is available.
