After a 5 year planning row between the residents and developers and following a 7 month revamp, this classy canalside bar has recently opened. The building used to be the old Jacksons Warehouse but is now a trendy multistorey gastro type pub offering stunning views overlooking the canal basin.
On the lower floor there are comfy armchairs, iron fireplaces and an abundance of well spaced wooden tables and chairs, with also in a slightly lower area, a quiet room with a wall full of books to go at.The downstairs area is is more that of pub service, with the upper level being restaurant with full table service. There is also an attractive outdoor dining area, complete with water fountain, barbecue and even a Boules arena. There was an excellent selection of cask beers on which i think vary in price from £3.40p to £4.00 and have 3 permanent ones tap with another 3 on a rotation plan. There is also a large selection of over 80 whiskies to choose from including a Japanese one called Yamazaki which apparently tasts of spiced wood, cranberries, marmalade and honey.Definitely worth a visit
