This has changed hands and had a bit of a spruce up since I last visited, but remains the more 'local' of the remaining two options in Long Hanborough, and a vinegary half of Hook Norton Hooky - the only option from three pumps (two unclipped) meant an off piste choice of a half of Fosters. Everyone here seems to mean well - a pleasant (and apologetic) barmaid, amiable locals (a band were setting up for a birthday bash) and modernised surrounds. Internally, it's a rough lighting bolt shape, with the bar forming an L in the middle. There's a 'snug' with sofas and armchairs, books on windowsills and people watching a cooking show (Bake Off maybe - not sure) on a wall-mounted flat screen. The 'Saloon' area houses a dartboard, jukebox, quizzer and was about to double as a stage for the band. Potential to be a lot better, but those in situ seemed happy enough...
