Does exactly what it says on the tin: this is a bar bistro. It's very smart, with dining tables on the left and a bar to the right with some black leather sofas nearby. The front windows open to allow drinkers to drift out onto the narrow terrace in front, where the main attraction is watching commuters hurrying for their trains and listening to the traffic from the bypass below (which, to be fair, is not as loud as it might be).

There are four hand pumps taking pride of place on the bar: RAW Edge Pale, Dark Star Hophead and Revelation, and Thornbridge McConnel's stout were available when I was here. I noticed a couple of other beers on the keg fonts, one of which was another stout. I had a half of the Hophead, which was in good condition and went down a treat. Later, on our way back to the station, we called in for another. I didn't look at the food, but can definitely recommend the beers here if you're on your way to or from the station, or just doing a circuit of the town.
