Visited last night and this place has changed massively since I was last in, probably three or so years ago. As well as changing its name (it used to be the Chat Moss Hotel) it has now gone more upmarket. The real coal fire was a nice touch, but the room between the bar and the restaurant area felt a bit clinical, how I would imagine a waiting room to be at an upmarket cosmetic surgery clinic, only without the copies of Silicone Monthly. The bar area did look a bit more cosy. The pool table that used to be on the opposite side of the bar has disappeared.
At the bar was Bombardier Amber and Wainwright, so nothing to get excited about. My Bombardier was OK, but not more than OK.
Feels a lot less pubby now it has gone upmarket. Not sure I would want to rush back, but it was nice to check it out and see how it has changed.
