David Walton left this review about Peppermint
Visited 21/08/25. Visited previously on 26/10/23.
No cask. Keg offering predictable for the type of venue of Guinness, Hawkstone lager (ok that is a bit fancy for Cardiff), Estrella, Brooklyn Pilsner and the Stonewall Inn IPA, Somersby apple cider, Asahi, Peroni.
This is the bar at the station end of Mill Lane which is the bar lane in Cardiff. The outside seating area at the front with outside booths and benches and regular tables was incredibly popular in my visit, unlike when I photo'ed this place on a visit earlier in the year but didn't review as hadn't spotted then that it hadn't been previously reviewed. Inside the bar counter is against the rear wall and has an attractive ceramic tile frontage. Flooring is wood block in herringbone pattern and there is a table with the same ceramic table surface as the front of the bar counter opposite served by a high leather banquette and tall leather stools. There is a similar banquette along the right-hand wall but serving more humdrum tall tables with some leather seating booths in the right-hand corner to the side of the bar counter. Over on the left-hand side of the venue, beyond a similar tall banquette facing the left-hand end of the bar counter, is a series of interlocking booth tables separated by small tiled faced low walls. There is a lounge on the first floor available for private hire. This is a typical bar of its type in the centre of Cardiff, pleasant at times where it isn't stuffed to the gills late at night or anytime practically on the weekend.
