Basic boozer. Greeted by a jumbo husky stood atop the pool table by the door like some sort of flat-roofed pub bouncer, with a lead tied to the keg font to stop it getting too far out in the wild. A beardy guy heaved himself up to serve me, only to announce that there was zero draught as he was leaving in a fortnight. Looking around, it was perhaps not hard to see why it hadn't worked out.

This may have well been a characterful multiroom pub back in the day as a sign outside would have you believe it is Kings Lynn’s oldest continually run public house. But now it is one fairly bland internal space largely dominated by a pool table and stage area for live bands and multiple screens for the sky sports which is advertised more prominently on the sign that the historical fact.
Mainly standard keg products, but there are two hand pumps on the fairly plain bar which are usually Doom Bar and Adnam’s Ghostship and unfortunately the Ghostship clip was reversed for my visit.
Apparently live music is a feature most weekends and I can imagine it gets a bit lively when there are bands on. Unfortunately on a mid week mid afternoon with a couple of blokes and a dog in, it really didn’t have a lot going for the place.
