The White Lion is one of the many Brewer’s Fayre pubs that are no longer open to the general public. This one is open for breakfast and dinner to serve the Premier Inn guests at the adjacent hotel. Having a below par breakfast here allowed me to have a nose around the sprawling split level interior. Standard keg and Doom Bar were supported on the bar, that was out of bounds. This pub’s semi-closure isn’t a huge loss to the UK pub scene, but it’s not great to see the change of use of so many pubs at the drop of a hat.

A nice Thwaites pub hidden of the main road. Three roomed with the main bar area, a snug and another room. There is also a dining room. Well decored with plenty of old photos on the walls and comfy traditional seating. Beer gardens front and rear if its a nice day. Mainly Thwaites beers with Wainwright, Lancaster Bomber and Original Bitter plus 2 guest ales. Sadly only the Thwaites was on on my visit. 6 handpulls altogether. Its a bit of a walk from Little Sutton train station.
