ROB Camra left this review about York House
Formerly The Abacus this pub has had a massive refurbishment. It's a huge place on two floors with the upstairs area being mainly a restaurant. The downstairs area has been nicely decorated in a rather shiny fashion, but it still looks good. There's a raised area facing the bar where most of the seating is, mainly in booths, although there are some standard dining tables and chairs. The food menu looked good, although we didn't try any on this visit. There are 6 handpumps on the bar with 5 ales available during our visit, along with several craft kegs. There's a large blackboard to the left of the bar with the days offerings on it. I had a pint of Bude Haven which was in good nick and Ms CAMRA also like the wine. We'll be calling back here and may even eat here.

The Abacus" is a smith and Jones branded pub, service is friendly and drinks very cheap, opted for pint of gk Morland original at just £1.69 a pint. Fantastic large building spread over two floors with lots of comfy seating areas,8/10ps good free wifi too and the signal is so strong you can use it in wetherspoons across the road
