Oggwyn Great left this review about Travellers Rest
An old coaching inn converted into a Beefeater pub/resturant attached to a Premier inn , the front is the most publike area , from the entrance steps lead down to the bar area , steps to the right lead up to a nice seating area with seats in the window alcoves and a nice modern open fire , to the left of the entrance is the main dining area and steps lead up and down to more seated areas , the place is a proper warren on around four different levels , there is evidence of the old coaching inn with lots of ancient looking beams scattered around the place blending well with the modern exposed brickwork .
Usual keg taps and two handpulls , Marstons Pedigree and Hobgoblin , not the most exiting choices but were well spot on , the staff were friendly and service good .
Not my usual type of pub but OK for a pint and a quick bite to eat while waiting for the bus into town .
