Alan Winfield left this review about Stag And Pheasant

The Stag and Pheasant was a decent looking pub that was situated towards to bottom end of lower parliament street.
Once inside the pub was pretty much unaltered with four different rooms, there was a fairly basic bar and a more comfortable lounge plus a smoke room.
The pub was a Home Ales tied house and there were two real ales on the bar with both Home mild and bitter being very nice drinks here.
We always enjoyed having a drink in here.
Sadly this pub was pulled down when the Boots island regeneration scheme went ahead, there are now ugly office blocks on its site.
What a waste of a decent pub.
