Nick Davies left this review about The Charlecote Pheasant
A former farmhouse which as now expanded into a random hotchpotch of buildings to form this package tour/conference venue hotel operated by the Shearing coach trip company. They advertise it as a 'country house hotel' but this is nowadays something of a conceit: you know what to expect. The bar, when you find it, is standard corporate; then there is a pointless raised outdoor seating affair overlooking a grotty back yard. There is plenty of scope for a very attractive beer garden, but I guess that requires imagination: then again don't forget this place is run by a bus company.
Now after all that there is a plus point, and that's a single handpump dispensing Warwickshire Yer Bard, and very nice is was too. I guess the many mature guests that frequent the hotel ensure decent throughput. All is not lost if your cruel employer sends you there for a training course. And it's handy for a quick one (and better loos than the NT provide) if you visited Charlecote Park, just next door and well worth a couple of hours.
