E TA left this review about Las Iguanas / Casa Iguanas
The main part of the business, Las Iguanas, is sited in an historic building in the city centre, the setting for this branch of the Mexican themed chain is pleasant and relaxing, away from the tourists outside, and enjoyable for its sun trap triangular courtyard. The interior is equally attractive in architectural terms, bars on two levels joined by a spiral staircase. Casa Iguanas is in a much smaller and less impressive former shop across the road. Much as I liked the main location, though, I felt it was let down by three things: the food, the drink and the service. No real ale or cider, though to be fair I wasn’t expecting any. But there was nothing even vaguely appealing, just rubbish foreign lager, cheap cocktails and an unsatisfactory choice of wine. The food was tasteless and formulaic, basically over-cooked slop. The staff were apathetic and listless. Worth giving the whole enchilada a miss.
