peter ashworth left this review about Legh Arms

This late Tudor building and old coaching Inn was originally called The Saracens Head and dates back to around 1580.The pub has original oak beams and log fire with a smart dining area just left of the bar. There was 4 cask beers to choose from with if needed an extensive food menu.
The pub's sign is very interesting with a different design on each side.On one side is a crest which I presume is the Lech coat of Arms, while on the reverse is a portrait of a black boy.Apparently a wandering artist was requested to paint a Saracens head for the sign, but unsure what that was painted a young black boy,so for a period of time was called The Black Boy or the Blackamoor's Head.
The pub also offers accommodation.
