Strongers . left this review about Tin Drum Hove
The Tin Drum Hove is the sister pub of the Tin Drum at Seven Dials and both are food led. This family business has the saying ‘from field to fork’ which is used to to highlight the fact that they have a farm in Lewes which supplies much of these pub’s ingredients. So unsurprisingly the interior of this pub reflects the huge leaning towards food and the left hand side is set up for diners. Non diners could be found in the right hand side of this single room open plan pub so one isn’t made to feel uncomfortable just having a beer. In fact I think that this place is much more pub like than the Tin Drum in Seven Dials. The mains are priced between £10 and £20 and there are sharing platters available. There is no real ale and the draught is limited to Becks Vier, Stella, Staropramen, Leffe, Stowford Press and Guinness. The toilets are located up some steep steps at the rear, but there is a disabled toilet at the foot of the stairs. However there is a step up to the decked area out the front that houses some café seating and leads to the entrance.
I have no doubt that the food is good, but this isn’t a place to go just for a beer and the lack of ale will mean that it doesn’t blip on many people’s radar. There are better places in the immediate area to enjoy a pint.
