Alan Winfield left this review about Gorton Arms

The Gorton Arms was a very large stand alone pub that was situated on the corner of gorton lane and clowes street.
The pub looked quite nice from the outside.
Once inside i went into a large basic room that was probably the bar, there may have been other rooms but i did'nt look.
When i went in this pub it was a Banks's tied house and there were two real ales on the bar i had a drink of Banks's bitter and this was a decent drink the other beer was Banks's mild.
Sadly this pub has been pulled down and there is now an ugly modern building on its site.
What a shame.
