Bucking Fastard left this review about Smith's Bar and Grill
A very large bar with a popular outside seating area giving views of Paddington Basin and the boat traffic. The inside has a very high ceiling with much industrial piping, and is rather sparse with furniture, mostly modern tables and chairs around the perimeter, although there is an attractive circular banquette to the front. Two wings extend down either side of a long central bar, which has a modern black top with a large bar back housing a wide variety of spirits and wine bottles.Besides a pedestrian keg beer selection,I spied two handpumps serving Black Sheep Bitter and Whitstable Bay Pale Ale,expensive at £4.50.However on serving the handpump was pulled down to activate a tap,I had to conclude this was a keg version of this beer ,although my pint was not heavily carbonated and only served a little cold. However the barrel was new on.
Food revolves around small bite dishes at £5,sharing platters £9-£15 and the like. There is a cocktail bogoff between 5.30 and 7.30 at £8 for 2 identical cocktails. The muzak was gentle and laid back on my lunchtime visit, but given the room for vertical drinking and the location, the experience maybe very different after work.
Functional, but not for the real ale fan given the question mark about the dispense method.
