Old Boots left this review about The Derwent Arms
A large brick built pub in Norton but not far from Malton rail station. L shaped interior with a big L shaped corner. There’s a beer garden at the back. Fairly basic locals pub, quite modernised inside and with fairly limited seating for the size of the place. Tall tables at one end, lower in one corner, two odd wings have more lower seating, one with a pool table. Obviously screens and machines plus the usual constant music. Three T-Bars along the counter with nothing unusual plus a couple of solos, two pulls with Taylor’s Landlord (average) and Boltmaker.

A large and impressive looking pub, which has been gutted and modernised inside to leave a single large L-shaped room with no real character or atmosphere but still seemed popular with the (mainly younger) locals. The large expanses of wood flooring do not help, not does the tedious grey green decor. It does at least retain all the community aspects - live music, pool, darts etc. Outside there is a large car park with patio seating areas front and rear. The two handpumps were sadly out of use: one should have been TT Landlord, not sure about the other.
