Interesting time to visit.... last week, it was under water but the makeshift defences had meant they were back up and running quickly. Markers on the wall showing that the water had only come up to a low level, nowhere near the 1947 peak, where I would have needed a snorkel.
And in the week that I read about the (lack of) Burton Unionisation of Pedigree, I have a couple of pints for the first time in ages. Always been a no go for me, as when its bad, its very bad. Stinky. These pints were in perfect condition, making me reconsider my views. Maybe I didnt like Unionusation.
A perfect county Inn, converted farmhouse. Lovely fire. Lots of people dining. Friendly hosts.
A lovely afternoon, before we headed back out into the begins of Storm Isha for the 3 mile walk back to Upton. We should have taken the bus :-)

A lovely quintessential Village Inn, with large gardens, a wide ranging menu of largely homemade food, Cask Ales, Wine List, serving food all day, and everyday. Beamed Bar, and large Restaurant. Monthly Music Evenings, and Fortnightly Quiz Nights, on Wednesdays. An oldfashioned Pub as they used to be, with a good mix of locals, and Food.
