This is a popular and busy back street pub, probably frequented more by locals than visitors. It has an attractive, irregulary shaped bar room with a long narrow section in the middle and wider sections at either end. It was dimly lit, with a stone flagged floor and wood panelling on the walls. There is a restaurant adjacent and a games room containing a pool table through a connecting door. A pint of Guinness cost me £3.50 and Shipyard Pale Ale, Belhaven Best, John Smith's, Strongbow cider and Tennent's, Carling and Coors lagers were also on draught. There was also one hand pump, dispensing Doom Bar. Home made pub food is served in both the bar and the restaurant.
